Could you add some more precise measurements for us beginner cooks?

by Cory

Hey I tried making this today, though I think I messed up because I didn't know how much olive oil to use and how much exactly '1 stick of butter' is. I think the butter I bought was in bigger sticks than in the picture. Anyways, I didn't make enough of the sauce for the pound of angel hair I made (forgot to add salt to the pasta when boiling too :( ) so it tasted kind of bland. It would be great if you could add some more precise measurements for us beginner cooks. Thanks.

Hopefully, this will help.

Cory,

I'm sorry you had trouble with this recipe. Hopefully, this will help; 1 stick of butter is 1/4 of a pound of butter. Normally, when you buy a pound of butter, it is in a box, and when opened, it contains 4 sticks that are individually wrapped. Now you can also buy a pound of butter that is whole. Don't buy that, go for the individual sticks.

The amount of Olive Oil needed is dependent upon what kind of pan you are using, and if you are willing to add more butter. If you use a teflon pan, you will need less of both. Stainless Steel requires more. No matter what, start with a 1/2 cup olive oil, and have more on hand if needed.

If you made a pound of pasta, that is quite a lot. To have enough "sauce", you would have to make a couple of batches to really cover it. Aim for a light coating. The goal is to make the shrimp the dominant taste.

I will try to garner more exact measurements in the future. Right now, I hope this helps.
