Buying and Preparing Fresh Garlic

This is what fresh garlic looks like.

Fresh Garlic You can buy it packaged, or in a bin at the Supermarket. I like to pick individual bunches, so I can make sure they are in good shape. Try to stay away from blemished garlic as best you can.

If you do find blemishes, just cut them out when you prepare the garlic.

I have never done this, but I am aware that you can buy cut garlic in a jar. I understand it is really strong. All of my recipes are based in using fresh garlic. If you have used jar garlic, let me know what you think.

Cut off the top to get to the cloves. Remove as many as you want, then trim the skin off the garlic. Rinse cloves under cold water.

Now you are ready to slice, dice, mince or crush. Enjoy.
