White Clam Sauce Recipe

Great Wines, Affordable Prices - 468x60

Do you ever invite friends over last minute for dinner? I do, and when I do I make my White Clam Sauce Recipe. This happened with a friend of mine just a few weeks ago.

My Linguini and Clam Sauce is one of those dishes that you can’t prepare ahead of time. So, my friend kept me company in the kitchen, while I threw it together.

Now my dear friend (her name will remain hidden!) can not cook. I’m pretty sure she is not even interested in cooking. Of course she loves to eat!

Anyway, she watched me make the clam sauce recipe, and I showed her everything step by step.

Actually, my friend had never seen fresh garlic before. So, I showed her how to chop the garlic. Click here to learn how to buy and prepare fresh garlic. Then we discussed the many types of Olive Oils, and my preference, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.

By the time the water started to boil, she understood how to make this dish!

And within the week, she did make Linguini and Clam Sauce for herself in her own home! And most important, she said it tasted good!

Now she’s empowered! Knowledge defeats fear!

Anytime she wants a good home cooked meal, she can make it herself.

It’s never too late to learn how to cook. Click here for a comment from my friend....

Here it is, my White Clam Sauce Recipe.

White Clam Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup olive oil (approximately)

1 onion chopped

3-4 cloves garlic chopped

3 cans of Clams (do not drain)

Salt and pepper to taste

Parsley

1 pound Linguini

Hot pepper flakes to taste (optional)

Clam Sauce Ingredients

Method

Before you do anything, put a pot of water on the stove, and begin the process of bringing the water to a boil. This takes up the most time.

Cover a pan with olive oil. Put it on a medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Saute.

When the onions look clear, add clams, including the juice. Bring to a boil. Stir every few minutes.

When the sauce thickens, add a touch of parsley. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir again. Turn off heat.

Wait for Linguini to cook in boiling water. Too see if the linguini is cooked, remove a strand with a fork. Let cool, then bite into it. If it is softened the way you like it, it is cooked.

Drain the water, put Linguini into serving dish. Pour Clam Sauce over Linguini. Mix together, and serve. Enjoy!
